Manchester United are closing in on the signing of defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica as their first summer signing, according to reports in Portugal.
Portuguese newspaper Record is reporting that a deal is close to being done as Jose Mourinho looks to land the first signing of the summer for the Red Devils.The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the January transfer window but a switch failed to materialise.
However, the report in the Portuguese media now claims that Manchester United have agreed to pay £30m up front for the defender, plus a potential £4m in add-ons.
It is claimed that Lindelof will travel to Manchester for a medical “in the coming days”.
